A Miami destination wedding was the perfect solution for this couple currently living in New York, but had family traveling over to celebrate from their native Albania. They opted for a classic, clean design with careful pops of color and plenty of Albanian marriage traditions woven in along the way. THE VAULT is your go-to for every moment captured by Merari Photography.
From Merari Photography… Rodi and Eni chose to have their wedding celebration at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach all the way from Buffalo, NY. Their family is mostly from Albania so Miami was a fun halfway point for everyone. Eni incorporated some traditional Albanian elements into the celebration. Her mom made a beautiful handkerchief used when the bride and groom lead the guests in a traditional dance around the room and her sister, the maid of honor, carried a little plate with candy and coins for good luck.
Eni kept a simple and soft color palette with a pop or red here and there to add contrast. Their outdoor ceremony was almost rained out thanks to the crazy Florida summer weather but as soon as they saw each other during their first look, the skies cleared up and she was able to walk down the aisle and meet Rodi under the sunshine.
Their reception was set up to feel intimate and fun, like a family dinner. The bride and groom’s favorite tapas, beer and wine were placed on each table for everyone to pass around and share. Once the music started, everyone gathered around the dance floor for the traditional money dance, where guests shower the bride and groom with cash to start their new life together. It was a lovely and fun celebration!
