From Kari Rider Events…It was at the Tred Avon Yacht Club where a young Molly Mulfur first fell in love with the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, and it was at that same yacht club some twenty years later where she officially let her heart sail away with Ryan Colahan. Everything about this late-summer Eastern Shore wedding was as natural as the couple saying “I do”—from the vibrant wildflower bouquets to the adorable naked cake to the bride’s delicate, lace-trimmed Sarah Seven gown.
Keeping with the couple’s vision for an intimate, organic-inspired celebration, we let nature do the talking at this waterfront venue rife with memories from the bride’s childhood. Beneath a tent overlooking the Tred Avon River, bright wildflower blooms popped from the statement mahogany farm tables, setting the tone for a rustic meets boho meets Eastern Shore soiree. We dressed the surrounding tables in neutral-hued linens to soften the scene and placed rosemary stems in each napkin fold for a simple finishing touch. Custom poppy seed packets hanging from a burlap-lined display board served as dual escort cards and favors, leading guests to tables named for neighborhoods near the bride and groom’s Philadelphia home.
All of this was perfectly captured by Krista and Davey of Krista A. Jones Photography, who turned out some of the most gorgeous bride and groom portraits we’ve ever seen—including some dreamy shots from an impromptu stop at a most felicitous sunflower field! Does it get any better than that?!
