Jewel Tone Engagement Party Inspiration

When we add galleries like this one to THE VAULT, I want to jump inside, cozy up with a cocktail and join the party. The engagement party to be exact, complete with cozy throws, a vintage-decked table topped with En Fleur Event Design florals and a blooming cake from The Sweet Side. Sounds like fall fun right? Join us in the gallery with imagery from Katie Parra!

From Katie Parra PhotographyThis styled photoshoot was the culmination of several ideas I’ve had and have wanted to photograph for a long time. First, the chance to photograph my dear friends and real life couple Brandon and Tyler was a total dream come true! Besides both being totally and utterly gorgeous, they are the sweetest most giving couple! I’ve wanted to photograph an event at The Admiral’s House for the last two years and with this shoot I finally got the opportunity! With it’s classic architecture, stunning views and undeniable charm it was the perfect backdrop for our “engagement party.” The floral elements that Molly of En Fleur made were absolutely unreal! I’m so in awe of that girl’s talent…the flowers really just blew my mind! I wanted the engagement party to feel like a classic throw back cocktail party with rich jewel tone colors contrasting against the stark white back drop of The Admiral’s House. I wanted it to feel lush and a little over the top. In the end I feel we really captured that. Megan of Clutch Events helped me pull everything together…she is my go to gal whose taste is impeccable, work ethic is undeniable, and all while keeping me and the entire crew laughing and smiling throughout the whole process! Plus that Porsche that made an appearance…100% Megan working her charm to score the ultimate addition to our over the top fabulous cocktail party!

Wedding Paper Divas was the perfect place to go when searching for the right engagement party invite, save the date and custom coasters. Their amazing variety made choosing so hard, but in the end I feel like we captured the exact feel we wanted to achieve. I love the laser cut save the date that we chose. It was modern in design but had a whimsical take to it with the laser cut letters. I was able to choose a custom color that matched perfectly with the aesthetic of the shoot. The engagement party invite is classic in design, very much like the Admiral’s House, but with a hint of party with the gold foil detailing. I also loved that I could choose matching coasters and place cards to tie everything together.

I wanted the engagement shoot to be softer in it’s color palette and full of warm happy light. I wanted it to feel very masculine while also feeling very romantic. Charlie my German Shepherd added a little bit of whimsy for some of the more formal portraits at the beginning….any excuse to photograph my beautiful pup! I can’t thank Tyler and Brandon enough however. They are such a wonderful couple and made my job easy by being incredibly generous, honest and open with me throughout the whole shoot. The most amazing part of my job is that I get to see couples in love express that love in their own unique way. Whether it’s through a look or a smile, I’m allowed a peek at the beautiful connection the two of them share. It’s perfection!
