From Amy Fanton Photography… One of the amazing things about being a photographer based in London are all of the incredible destination wedding locations that are only a stone’s skip away throughout Europe. I fell in love with the Greek Islands almost a decade ago and this summer I decided to organize a bridal shoot in Mykonos to show off some of the islands’ beauty for brides who might be considering a Greek Elopement or Destination Wedding. I was incredibly inspired by the crisp and refreshing look of the white stucco architecture against the many shades of turquoise and pink that seem to be just around every corner. To balance the modern color palette with a touch of elegance and classical Greek elements, I incorporated foliage from an olive tree and touches of brass and gold throughout the shoot.
A sleek, minimalist La Poesie gown from Heart Aflutter Bridal fit perfectly with the modern look – the delicate chiffon material moved beautifully on the windy beach, and the crossed back added just the right amount of unique detail fitting within the Grecian theme.
A braided updo was dressed with a delicate and feminine gold, pearl and Swarovski crystal headdress by Hermione Harbutt to add just a touch of glamour for a confident and bold bride.
Stationery from Beyond Vintage incorporated the blue and white color palette so characteristic of the Greek Islands with geometric patterns mimicking traditional Greek tilework and architecture.
I’m a fine art wedding photographer based in London, UK specializing in destination weddings throughout Europe and the UK, and I shoot using both medium format film and digital images, I’m obsessed natural light, and all things pretty. My clients tend to blossom in front of the camera because one of my greatest strengths is making my subjects feel comfortable despite however shy they may be. I elicit authentic emotion within the couple by inciting natural interactions, and my sessions are always a time where my couples connect and enjoy each other.
