Relaxed + Elegant Seaside Anniversary Session

As a newlywed, it's hard to imagine celebrating our five year, 10 year or even one year anniversary - our wedding is still so fresh in my mind. But coming upon a shoot like this makes me excited for the future, for all the joy ahead. These cuties toasted to three years of wedded bliss and to their first year as new parents and they make it look absolutely amazing. Faith Teasley followed them along the Outer Banks and her pics are the best advertisement for a perfect pairing. See them all in our VAULT right here!

From Cate... Kilian and I love to spend time by the water, and one of our favorite places is the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We both have fond memories of spending summers there as children and during our dating years. This year's trip was very special because we got to begin making memories there as our own little family - we brought our 8-month old son Jack to the beach for the first time. The anniversary session was perfect timing to celebrate not only our first family vacation but also our belated 3rd year wedding anniversary and getting close to surviving our first year as new parents!

I didn't set out to have such a fancy photo session but I fell in love with the Allison Parris dress from Rent the Runway - the light blue-green tulle reminded me of the Carolina coast. From there, a champagne toast seemed like the next logical step! The basket was from the picnic lunch where Kilian proposed, the vintage champagne coupes were my grandparent's, and the cocktail napkins were saved from our wedding reception. We had so much fun exploring the 4x4 beaches and searching for wild horses with Faith and her mom. We are so grateful to both of those lovely ladies as well as Liz and Ryan and their Amazing Life Together project for having the opportunity to get dressed up and add a little romance into our new parent lives!
