Vintage + Rustic Fall Steamboat Springs Wedding
The Bride and Groom's elated smiles say it all—this Colorado wedding is full of love and happiness. From the Bride's pretty pink and peach ranunculus flower crown and effortlessly elegant lace dress to the sweetest golden retriever pup and shabby chic dessert table, this day is exactly how the Bride described it: "vintage, rustic and hippie-chic." See all the pretty from Andy Barnhart Photography in THE VAULT.
From The Bride...I’m a planner. Within the first weeks of meeting Matt I was on Pinterest like a crazy person, pinning all my ideas, my visions, my dreams and of course the engagement ring I hadn’t received yet. Matt and I are both transplants from the Midwest, Michigan and Illinois but when we met we both shared an intense love for Steamboat Springs. It was an easy agreement that we would get married there. Fast forward to our vintage, rustic, hippie-chic September wedding. Some brides have wedding planners…I had my mother. I would have an idea and sometimes a photo and she was able to bring it to life. Two of my favorites were the ribbon and twinkle light ceiling decoration and the amazing dessert table. They both captured the fun and sweetness of our wedding. With the help of family she created centerpieces of wood rounds, dyed mason jars and coral and mint flowers. I chose subtle colors for the bouquets of garden roses. Family helped collect vintage mismatched china used for the dinnerware.
We found Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp made a perfect venue for our myriad wedding theme. It had it’s quirks but just felt good. Not many venues let you walk over a babbling creek on your way to get married in an aspen grove. I have always been a hippy at heart and my lace dress, cowboy boots and flower crown made me feel beautiful. Our guests sat on straw bales covered in vibrant mismatched fabric. One of my best friends married us in a non- traditional but spiritual ceremony filled with emotion, laughter and music. We walked out as a married couple with the band singing Edwarde Sharpe’s “Home” and lavender being tossed in celebration. Guests moved on to the cocktail hour outside the reception Pavilion with a surrounding pond and beautiful mountains with the sun setting. They played corn hole and giant Jenga that were monogrammed and hand built by Matt. Straw bales were mixed in with vintage couches. Meanwhile there were so many amazing photos being taken. My maids of honors were bustling my dress and a deer just walked on by. Later Matt and I pet a horse in a pasture on the venue. It may have just wanted to eat my bouquet but it made for a funny photo and just a truly enchanting moment. At the reception we ate great food, took tons of photo booth pictures, danced to the live band and ended the night running down a line of our guests holding sparklers and cheering for us. Our friends, family, vendors and our awesome photographer team truly helped make all my planning and dreaming perfectly real.
