From The Bride...Brendon and I met in college eleven years ago and were instant friends. Our friendship grew over the years and eventually evolved into a romantic relationship. After seven years, many moves and career changes, we were finally ready to tie the knot!
In 2013, we stayed at the Bacara Resort and Spa in Santa Barbara for a getaway weekend and fell in love. The Spanish style architecture, ocean views, and serene atmosphere made for a dream wedding venue. We were both set on a classic June wedding and were able to book their ocean bluff location. Once our venue was set, we were lucky enough to find our amazing wedding planner, Hana Malek of Venus Event Design, who helped us hone in on our style and vision for the event. Nancy from Oak and the Owl incorporated the the most gorgeous peonies and garden roses into the flowers and brought the beautiful and romantic look I wanted for our tabletops. Everything was captured in beautiful natural light by Carmen Santorelli. I would recommend to all engaged couples to hire a wedding coordinator because it really took the stress out of the planning. Hana brought together our dream team of vendors!
Ultimately, we wanted a romantic, timeless and classy black-tie event for our family and friends. Most importantly, we wanted it to be a true celebration and for everyone to have fun! Because we had such amazing vendors, we were very comfortable with leaving the creative control to the professionals. This allowed us to truly enjoy our wedding day and the entire planning process. The wedding went off without a hitch and our guests were in awe throughout the entire event. Above all, everyone had a blast and it was the best night of our lives.
