From White Orchid Weddings... Ashley and Jordan planned for their wedding to be held in the beautiful okanagan valley for the beauty it boasts and the special childhood memories it held for them. They really wanted their day to reflect who they were as a couple. Simple, Fresh, Casual with hints of elegance.
Lilacs were the brides favourite, so the fact that we could incorporate them at this time of the year was fantastic. Shades of violet, lavender, and lilac with contrasting sage greens was the colour pallet we felt best reflected their day.
They wanted a lot of personal details and incorporated as many as they could from the sign for “uncle jord", beautiful lanterns , pictures to remember the people who couldn't be there with them, and right down to the vintage fabric handkerchiefs “for Happy tears” they lovingly collected.
Ashley DIY the charms for the her bouquet: Grandparents that we very important to her life and this was her way of incorporating them into her day.
Because they kept their wedding very intimate, they chose to have a community table and sit family style for dinner. So it felt like a big family dinner together! The Hotel Eldorado was the perfect space to offer beautiful natural light, and a romantic feel to their reception space.
Instead of a candy bar, they wanted to offer a DIY trail mix bar for their guests as a unique take on the classic.
The bride and groom made getting to your seat fun for the guests: You had to answer a trivia question to find your seat for dinner! All of these details made for a fun experience for all their out of town guests, since A+J made their day a “destination” location.
