This darling duo met while studying geology in college, and fell in love during a six week summer field course in the great outdoors. It’s only natural then, that after getting engaged at Enchanted Rock, they return to where they began with an all-organic outdoor engagement shoot, captured effortlessly by Dana Fernandez. Take a peek at the gallery here!
From The Bride…Blake and I studied Geology together in college and we initially fell for each other over our summer field camp course, where we spent six weeks hiking around Utah and Montana mapping the geology. We spent evenings under the stars and around camp fires never wanting to end our conversations. Five years later, Blake proposed at Enchanted rock and it could not have been a better spot! Because we really appreciated getting away from everything while at field camp, getting to start a new chapter together on the top of a granite dome without any distractions was beyond perfect for us! We knew that we wanted to take our engagement pictures at enchanted rock not only because we got engaged there, but also because being outside surrounded by nature was where we began.
Over the last several years, Blake and I were based in different countries, I was in Ukraine while Blake was in Uganda. We were blessed to be able to travel a little bit to meet each other and were excited to use our souvenirs from our travels in our engagement pictures. We had a picnic on our favorite Moroccan rug and ate off of our Turkish olive wood platters. Everything from our engagement shoot had significance and we loved getting to tie our memories all together.
