Ballerina Autumn Styled Inspiration Shoot
This is what happens when a group of ultra-talented vendors come together for a day of non-stop beauty and inspiration at Spicers Clovelly Estate: a rich, autumn-inspired color palette, exquisite styling and details from Lovebird Weddings and crazy abundant blooms crafted brilliantly by Mondo Floral Designs. It's Sleeping Beauty meets Swan Lake, all wrapped up in stunning images from Studio Impression Photography. Get lost in the pretty here, then stay tuned for a lovely film from Lester and May.
From Studio Impressions... A base palette of delicate whites, soft dusty pinks and hint of creamy peach, to which we have added rose, blush, boysenberries, cherry and maroon... complimented by pops of mauve, plum and deep bold purples! Elegantly teamed with sage and lime foliage, dark oak browns, bronze and tarnished rich golds.
Our styled shoot begins at Spicers Clovelly Estate, the ultimate in relaxed luxury accommodation, and also one of the Sunshine Coast's most prestigious wedding venues.
The shoot was conceived by Lovebird Weddings who created the colour palette and design, and engaged all the suppliers. Lovebird Weddings is a wedding planning and styling agency.
Mondo Floral Designs created the incredible floral designs, cascading staircase design, piano design, bouquets and the florals used throughout the table scape.
From Terrianne At Mondo Floral Designs... The inspiration for our floral concept focussed on luxurious blooms with decadent textures, rich colours and a concept of perfumed florals opulent in design. We created two bouquets, both whimsical and dreamy in design style featuring a colour palette of ruby red, raspberry, lavender, pink, peach, butter and plum. Our selected blooms included David Austin roses, Columbian roses, tulips, lisianthus, hydrangea, cluster roses, stock, berries, and whimsical foliage’s. The cascading ribbons featured on each of the bouquets were chosen to accentuate the flow and fall of the movement for the shoot, enhancing the ballerina’s story, and trailing gracefully to the ground.
The reception featured a decadent and extravagant display of blooms, and our collection of antique brass and crystal vases were the perfect choice to fill with beautiful florals and feature foliage’s. The piano lingered gracefully in the background and featured plentiful petals as we massed beautiful blooms over the keyboards embracing the romance of the story. The ceremony featured a simple greenery garland on the ethereal backdrop cascading from the canopy, and garden-esque greenery aisle chair posies were attached to each Bentwood chair.
From Lovebird Weddings... We hired an ex Queensland Ballet dancer to further enrich our Sleeping Beauty inspired design.
We began with a boudoir shoot which included lingerie by Calvin Klein and layers of tulle skirting by Erin Clare Couture.
The dinner party design was shot in the Spicers Clovelly Library where we converted the library shelves into a decadent Brandy & Sweet bar, with sweets supplied by Cake Designs to include copper iced macaroons, chocolate brownies, mini lemon meringues and raspberry fruit baskets.
The table scape featured a number of unique pieces, including telegrams found at an antique store from a wedding in the same area some 80 years ago. Old oil burners and decanters sat in between the floral designs and berry taper candles. Lovebird Weddings created the table runner from vintage books which were edge-pressed to create a unique border, a process that took many hours to complete, but, yes, it is these little handmade details that really make such a difference. The simple table settings included Lovebird Weddings vintage silver cutlery tied with deep burgundy velvet ribbon.
The bouquets were oversized and decadent, with flowing ribbons to imitate the ribbons from ballet shoes.
The ceremony altar design included a burgundy backdrop, hand-painted by Lovebird Weddings in gold with a favourite quote from Sleeping Beauty “I know you, I walked with you, Once upon a Dream”. The autumn leaves provided rich tones of red and orange which created a magic carpet of colour though the ceremony design, allowing simple French wooden bistro chairs to line the aisle.
A French styled lounge area bathed in the dappled sunlight, while opposite, a deep pink velvet chesterfield provided a place to rest under the hanging seating plan design.
Towards dusk, pretty lace curtains provided the backdrop for leaps and bounds, boldly captured on camera and film…
