From The Bride…Mike and I met in college junior year, and after 5 years of dating long distance, I finally made the move from New York City to Washington, DC. When it came time to pick a location, we knew Washington, D.C. would be the perfect backdrop for our spring wedding. It is home for Mike and I, which made wedding planning easier, and was a great excuse for our guests to get away for a long weekend.

I have been dreaming of getting married since I was a little girl, and patiently waiting for Mike to propose, so when it finally happened – I had so many ideas! We wanted a classic black-tie feel, with a romantic, ethereal, and organic vibe. Bill from Edge Floral Event Design was wonderful and helped us bring this vision to life by using a ton of candles, white florals, and greenery in the decor.

When it came to the wedding gown, I had my heart set on wearing Israeli designer Inbal Dror, and the team at Mark Ingram Atelier was so wonderful! Because the dress had a lot of detail on the neck line, and a sheer corset back, I wanted to keep my jewelry and veil very simple, and opted for a long tulle veil, which displayed the back detail of my dress. For shoes, I chose a classic gold Miu Miu heel, with an embellished heel. I loved these because they were so simple from the front, but sparkly from the back. I knew with a heel like these I would wear them again, and always think of our wedding day.

Mike and I had three priorities when planning our special day. First off, we wanted all of our guests and us, to have a ton of fun and let loose. This meant hiring an amazing band, which is why we brought Creations Music from New York to help us celebrate. Second, it was important to have a fantastic photographer to capture our special day. Bonnie Sen was a doll. She was so sweet, hands on when needed, and took such dreamy and ethereal pictures that captured our day perfectly! Lastly, we wanted to make sure we were both relaxed, and Christine Godsey from Elegant Affairs and Leigh Murdock from the Ritz Carlton, helped us to make sure our day ran smoothly.

For us, the cherry on top came from our videographer, Ryan Geldermann. Often times, people pass on a videographer for their wedding, but when I saw Ryan’s films I knew I had to have him!! Ryan and his wife, captured our day in the most special way, and literally made us feel (and look) like rock stars.

We had such a fun and incredible time surrounded by people we love, and couldn’t be more grateful for our beautiful day!
