Oh golly, it can be hard to not have favorites but Boone Hall Plantation? Yeah, you really can’t beat it (Ryan and Blake, Noah and Allie, they knew it) – and Virgil Bunao’s pics show exactly why I go gaga over this venue. It played host to this romantic celebration that reinforces my belief that Charleston knows how to throw a proper party. See all the goodness in the gorgeous gallery and Cinema 843’s film below!

From the Bride… When you get engaged, everyone talks about how stressful it is to plan a wedding but in my experience, that couldn’t be further from the truth. If I wasn’t already counting my blessings in finding Graham, I certainly did so during the planning process. He took charge of all of the integral pieces: booking the venue and band (before he even popped the question!), arranging for transportation for our guests, reviewing contracts, and coordinating all of our vendors. Taking these not-so-fun aspects off my plate let me focus on the parts that I enjoyed: design, florals, and food!
When we envisioned our wedding, we wanted it to feel natural, relaxed and celebratory – of our marriage, our family and our friendships. Ooh Events! executed our vision perfectly with rentals that complemented the rustic space and an abundance of greenery with subtle pops of florals. Cru Catering provided a family-style BBQ dinner that our guests are still raving about. And my favorite piece of decor was the signage provided by Paper Tangent: hand-painted watercolor programs and menus that lent a personal touch to the evening.
We were so fortunate to work with vendors who are not only perfectionists at their craft, but also wonderful individuals whose personalities made our wedding day all that much better. As one who does not crave being in front of the camera or the center of attention, Virgil was a blessing and made me feel at-ease instantly. We were also incredibly lucky to stumble across our ceremony musicians in a café in Savannah, and are thankful that Isaac and Ethan made the trip up to Charleston to serenade us. I’d be remiss not to mention Louisa Jacobs, our planner, whose professionalism, execution and care far exceeded our expectations.
There are two moments from our wedding that stick out most in my mind. First and foremost, the private dance at sunset on the dock with my groom – I will be forever grateful to Virgil for creating and capturing that moment for us. And secondly, the moment I paused to take in the scene during dinner – the candlelight, beautiful marsh sunset, and most importantly, the conversations and laughter of friends and family who had traveled from all over the world to celebrate with us. I hope all brides are as lucky as I am to have these memories.
