Romantic Saddlerock Ranch Wedding
I spend my days surrounded by beautiful details... and this wedding is no exception. From the stunning captures from B&G Photography to the beauty stylings of Mariah Nicole to the breathtaking cake from The Butter End Cakery. But peel back the layers of pretty and you'll see that this day is really all about love. The love shared between two cuties meant-to-be... and the love they were able to experience with their families. See it all in The Vault right here, and in the description below.
From The Bride... My husband Steve and I met through Match.com. I was in my third year of Internal Medicine residency, and he was completing his MBA at the USC Marshall School of Business while working full-time for a major Hollywood studio. I was fed up with the online dating process, and decided to send out one more email before letting my membership expire for good. Little did I know that Steve didn't even have an active account, despite having an up-to-date profile page. When he was notified of an "anonymous" message in his inbox, Steve paid the fee to reactivate his membership so he could see my profile and read the email. He still tells me all the time it was the best $40 he ever spent. After a year of dating, he proposed to me at my 30th birthday party in front of our parents and many of our friends. It was the best surprise of my life!
A couple months later, we started the wedding planning process. We knew we had found our venue from the moment we set foot on the Garden Setting at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. We both fell instantly in love with this magical location, hidden amongst lush vineyards and rolling hills - no other venue could compare as far as we were concerned. Steve and I both wanted an intimate wedding with just our family and closest friends in attendance. I really wanted our guests to feel like they stepped into the pages of a fairy tale. I guess the best word to describe Saddlerock is "ethereal"...and the wide assortment of adorable animals at our location was a definite bonus! After all, how many people can say they had Stanley the giraffe nuzzling their wedding guests during cocktail hour?
As a busy physician, I knew that planning this wedding would be a challenge. Fortunately, with the help of my mom and a collection of truly exceptional vendors, we were able to make our vision a reality. Sadly, my mom passed away unexpectedly 6 weeks after our wedding. She had been struggling with chronic health problems for many years, but she worked tirelessly to give us the most perfect wedding we could ask for. She was a woman of incredible grace, selflessness, tenacity, and beauty. I miss her every single day, but I am so grateful that she was able to witness this amazing day and share in the magic she helped create.
