Romantic Flower-Filled Tuscan Wedding
Impending bad weather couldn't deter from the magical wedding wonderland created by Enzo Miccio for this summer celebration. Overflowing with roses and proteas, and a dress fit for a princess (courtesy of Enzo Miccio Bridal Collection), this wedding was made for royals; take a look at Alfonso Longobardi's pics and I dare you to disagree. From Enzo Miccio... Who doesn’t dream about a wedding in an enchanting forest where nature is the protagonist? For those who love natural greenery and the wild, the forest offers a unique and surreal atmosphere in which the architecture is determined by the nature, where timeless reigns.
This was the mood with which Anna and Philip united each other in marriage: he, a charming boy coming from South Africa, her, an English and sweet girl, who dreamed to reality of looking like a fairytale princess. Both of them wanted to be the protagonist of the fairytale atmosphere, where enchanted creatures, fairies and elves were the co-stars in this magical and enchanted wedding.
After long and careful research, the famous wedding planner Enzo Miccio, commissioned by the couple, found in Tuscany the ideal place to organize their special wedding. Moreover, Tuscany is a place of charm especially for British people.
Anna and Philip chose to celebrate their wedding in June 2014 with a fabulous 3-day outdoor wedding event in a elegantly-decorated area at the beautiful Borgo Pignano, a 750-acre country estate between Volterra and San Gimignano. The thoroughly enchanting Pignano estate features an elegant 18th Century manor house and surrounding stone farmhouses, gardens, meadows, pools, small lakes, orchards, woodlands and waterfalls.
Unfortunately the weather prediction of that weekend was disastrous. Luckily Enzo Miccio, knows how quickly Tuscany climate could change, therefore during the organization of the wedding event he prepared a plan B, C and D, too.
How could he realize the dream of Anna who looked at him with her big blue eyes, and to whom he had promised the staging of a fairytale? The dark clouds never left us, until 5pm, when a storm arrived which hit us with such violence that left us all in silence. The torchon of flowers, organza curtains, the little chairs in white wood decorated with wreaths of olive trees and ivy, the string ensemble, the bridesmaids with their wonderful dress in satin and chiffon, beautiful bouquet made with proteas (flower that Anna dedicated to Philip), peonies, roses and sand-colored sweet pea... everything seemed to have been broken.
Enzo ran to embrace and reassure Anna, everything would be just as well, that she would have this very special marriage, she only had to wait a while before marrying her Phil. A flute of champagne to make her smile return and then Enzo went into the forest with his gray soaked attire. He summoned Philip’s best men and his assistants under a weak but always relentless rain. So armed with rags they dried the chairs, created a makeshift gazebo to protect musicians, distributed 200 white umbrellas, and replaced the damaged flowers.
Finally, Enzo ran to Anne with the sealed wonderful Valentino white macramé wedding shoes and told to her that her wedding dream would become reality anyway, even with the weather.
And so it was... Anna and Philip had their enchanted fairytale and after the ceremony, the couple and their guests from the UK, South Africa and all around the world, enjoyed aperitifs on the pretty lawns overlooking the breathtaking Tuscan countryside views before the wedding banquet was served in a marquee in the gardens in front of the manor house.
After the wedding banquet and after cutting of the wedding cake – which had been delicately and beautifully decorated by the bride’s mum – the couple and their guests danced the night away on the dancefloor of an open marquee, decorated with chandeliers, pretty sofas and fabulous floral arrangements.
