French Country-Inspired Summer Wedding
With bouquets of white and blush peonies, this beautiful Bride and her super chic bridesmaids looked more like a scene from a French flick than a wedding party in Pennsylvania. Thanks to La Petite Fleur, the talented design team behind this summer celebration, guests enjoyed this French-country soiree from beginning to end, finishing the night with a gorge cake from Bredenbeck's Bakery, captured in its entirety by Sweet Pea Photography - more this way!
From La Petite Fleur... With love, timing is everything! Six years ago, at just the same moment, Diane and Rick passed through a hallway at work and met for the first time.
And for quite some time, Diane had envisioned a French Country-inspired wedding - brimming with not just details, but handcrafted touches as well, so she and Rick partnered with La Petite Fleur, Weddings & Events, to style their big day at North Hills Country Club in Glenside, PA.
Beginning with the bride's sweet, yet chic, palette of pink, white and black, LPF created a décor plan that highlighted the couple's handcrafted details while exuding an elegant charm.
Diane carried a simply-exquisite bouquet of white and light pink peonies finished with artemisia and ivory satin-wrapped stems. Then, clad in classic black cocktail dresses, the bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink peonies finished with artemisia and pink satin-wrapped stems - for a pretty pop! And for a classic touch, Rick and the groomsmen sported dapper palette-coordinating pocket squares.
Well-wishers were welcomed to the late afternoon reception at North Hills Country Club by a guest book, which was hand-illustrated by the father-of-the-bride. Guests then picked pink fleur de lis escort cards - Diane originals - from the "family tree" built by her father Michael Trinsey.
The father-of-the-bride also designed the couple's save-the-dates, invitations and ceremony programs in the ink and pen style he's been using to custom-design the family's annual Christmas card since he married Diane's mother.
With its floor-to-ceiling windows, French doors, solarium, and terrace, North Hills' offered an innate alfresco feel for this 'French Country Club' affair. So naturally, tables were dressed in crisp, white linens and monogrammed burlap table runners - fashioned by the bride herself.
La Petite Fleur designed two tablescape styles for the well-dressed tables. Some featured an eclectic collection of vessels, including a white glazed ceramic jug filled with 'oh-so-French- Country' lavender; an ornate opal cup brimming with white hydrangea; and a duo of garden vases filled with petite pink roses and artemisia, as well as white ranunculus and wax flower.
Also boasting classic charm, the second tablescape style featured a tall, silver-trimmed lantern finished at the top with sprigs of lavender and blush ribbon. Cozy at the base of the lantern were clusters of white hydrangea, petite pink roses, with a touch of lavender, seeded eucalyptus and artemisia.
Each table also featured a reclaimed wood sign (hand-selected by the father/daughter design duo), that Diane white-washed and hand-painted with table numbers spelled-out in French, of course! Then, cobalt blue wine bottle favors, with custom labels courtesy of their brother-in-law, finished the tablescapes with a 'twist' of color!
Candle-filled lanterns, with palette-coordinating roses and specialty greens, also made an appearance on the cocktail tables in the solarium and on the terrace.
And as guests danced the night away, bulb lights - strung café style - over the dance floor and the collections of candles perpetuated the sweet, romantic atmosphere the couple was aspiring to achieve.
Even the desserts were trés cute at this 'French Country Club' wedding. Diane and Rick offered guests an array of temptations -from traditional wedding cake, which LPF topped with ruffled-edged peonies, and an assortment of mini pies, to a French wedding cake known as a croquembouche, which LPF finished with none other than lavender sprigs.
From the Bride... That day, I planned to spend time with my friend Brittany at Sand Castle Winery, and Rick asked me to be home by five that evening so we could go to his father’s “retirement party." When I got home, I walked upstairs and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! Then he drove me into the city where he planned a surprise party (not a retirement party) with both of our families to celebrate our magical night.
