Real talk: I found my wedding dress at my first salon appointment. Truth be told? I was shocked. Especially given that these days there are SO many beautiful options to choose from – it’s easy to get lost in the search. Which is why we’ve got the low-down from Fabulous Frocks Boston on what tips to take with you when you’re ready to shop for THE dress.
Before you go gown shopping it’s important to think about the kind of dress you want. Take some time to browse online, flip through bridal magazines and make a Pinterest board.
Call for an appointment two weeks prior to your desired shopping date. Weekend appointments book up quickly so call in advance. It’s also important to know that most bridal boutiques do not operate on a walk-in basis so be sure to schedule an appointment before you shop.
It is best to shop with just a few people who’s input means the most to you. Having too many opinions is distracting and will take away from your gown shopping experience.
If you’re planning on wearing a strapless bra, corset, and/or spanx, be sure to bring them with you to your bridal appointment. It’s important to see how the dress will look and feel with your undergarments on.
Even if it’s just for fun, don’t do it! Only try on gowns that are within your price range. If you try on a gown that is well over your budget, it will be difficult to fall in love with anything else.
You never know how a gown is going to look until you put it on. Before you rule out a dress, try it on, you’ll be surprised.
Gown shopping is all about you so enjoy every minute of it and have fun finding your fabulous frock!
