Rustic Autumn Park Wedding in Perth
With rich autumnal hues and charming rustic details, the romance of these sweet Hyde Park "I Do's" can only be rivaled by the Bride and Groom's OMG-worthy engagement story, involving love rekindled after 5 years apart, a Spanish holiday, and a wishing well (seriously!). This gorgeous gallery from I Heart Weddings is not one to miss, especially if you're keen on a very dapper Groom in a well-cut suit!
From I Heart Weddings... A relaxed autumn park wedding with vintage and natural details and one very dapper groom! Tegan and Simon spent five years apart (her in Perth, him in London) and then decided to meet up in Spain for a holiday to just to see if the flame was still burning between them. Then they were engaged within a week! Simon proposed on a trek. When they stopped next to a wishing well Simon told Tegan to look right down to the bottom of the wishing well and when she turned around he was on one knee.
Simon’s two best friends decided to fly to Perth all the way from London to surprise him the day before the wedding. The look on his face when they surprised him was priceless! He was so happy to have them there and so they became his additional best men.
Tegan always wanted to get married in a park, with as much greenery around her as possible, and the sun on her face! Just like a picnic on a sunny day, but fancier. The wedding was a casual feel, a little bit vintage and rustic in style. They wanted everyone to just have a good time, feel really relaxed and just have fun! The ceremony set up in Hyde Park on a beautiful autumn day. It could not turned out better weather for a park wedding. It was like a fairytale! Tegan says.
From The Bride... My husband spent “hours” making the boxes for our cupcakes to go in, and trying the string and label around them, he was so proud of himself (that was literally his whole contribution the wedding).
My dress was from Bohemian Brides, an online boutique in Queensland. I found them online, chose my design, sent them my measurements and they made it to fit me perfectly. It’s a little bit scary ordering your dress online, but I could not have been happier with the finished product!
I had seen my photographers work on a friends wedding, and knew (before I was even in a relationship) that I wanted her for my wedding. The other vendors were found on Facebook, Instagram and by googling.
Walking around Hyde Park after the ceremony when we could calm down and take a deep breath and just enjoy the day and cozy up to each other for photo’s, was hands down my favorite part of the day. And then arriving at our reception and knowing that the rest of the night was all about having fun and dancing!
It was very important for us to have a Christian wedding. Being married now means getting to wake up every day next to your best friend, and knowing that what you have is for life. Knowing that we’ll never go a day without love and laughter. We’re so excited for the journey ahead!
The song I walked down the aisle to kept starting again intermittently throughout our ceremony to the point where it became a laughing matter for all. We just laughed along, it made it all fun.
Keep it simple! Go with your gut instinct and try and make your day a reflection of your relationship. Also, TRUST your vendors to just do their thing. If you give them too much direction you stifle their creativity. They’re in that business because they know what they’re doing, and when you let them do it freely they do it SO well, and you end up with incredible results! And don’t sweat the small stuff. Just have fun!
All my vendors were incredible! They were relaxed, which made me feel relaxed, and they did their jobs perfectly whilst having fun! I couldn’t have been happier with who we chose to be a part of our special day.
