#BridalBeautyBreakdown: Orangey Glow

This gorgeous photo shoot at Wiens Family Cellars from Plum & Oak Photo and Kelsey Rae Designs took place among the orange trees in the sunny Southern California city of Temecula, so it seems only natural that the incredibly talented makeup artist Alyssa Danielle would be inspired by the sweet citrus fruit to create this glowy look. With a bronze goddess glow and bright orange lip, this look is perfect for summer—and your wedding!

GET THE LOOK

Skin

Always start with a clean fresh face. Begin by moisturizing your face with a moisturizer of your choice. If you have dry skin add Argan oil into the moisturizer. For oily skin use a mattifying primer such as Kryolan Perfect Matte Primer after moisturizer is applied and absorbed. Another favorite primer is Smashbox’s Iconic Photo Finish Primer.

Eyes

For eyes, start with MAC Prolongwear Paintpot in Indianwood on the lids of the eyes. Next, using a blending brush, add a mixture of brown eyeshadows to to the crease of the eye using the Becca Ombre Nudes Palette. Sweep a skin tone color to the brown bone to help define the brow and brighten the eye area. Apply lashes and add mascara to help blend natural lashes and false lashes together.

Concealer & Foundation

For great, lightweight coverage, try NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the color the best matches your skin. Next, apply foundation that doesn’t contain sunscreen such as Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation, or Face Atelier Ultra Foundation Pro using a stippling brush. Foundation products that contain sunscreen will result in a flat-white complexion in front of a camera. Always use a damp beauty blender to help blend the foundation in to achieve that airbrushed look.

Brows

To get that perfect brow, use a spooly brush to comb through your brows. Next, use an angled brush to fill in brows with a brow powder and comb through brows again with a spooly to help blend in the powder. For a good brow powder, use Anastasia Brow Powder Duo.

Cheeks

For a soft summer cheek, sweep Stila Convertible Color in Petunia onto the apples of your cheek. Apply bronzer to the tops of the cheeks, jawline and forehead to give yourself sun-kissed look. Next, add a highlighter above the bronzer on the cheeks and brush up towards the temple. Be sure to use a light hand for both the bronzer and blush, as a little can go a long way.

Lips

To get that bright orange lip color, first apply Too Faced Lip Insurance Primer. Next, use Smashbox Always Sharp Lipliner in Melon followed by Inglot Lipstick in 37.

Finishing Touch

Apply a translucent setting powder such as Purely Cosmetics Diamond Diamond Perfect Finish Powder to your T-zone area. Set makeup with a setting spray such as Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to ensure your face glows all night!
