Chock full of lush peachy florals, a seriously stunning rose-covered courtyard reception dinner, with linens and decor from La Tavola and One True Love Vintage Rentals, this elegant ranch wedding is making me giddy for spring all over again! Lucky for us, Delbarr Moradi Photography captured all the rustic romance of this laid-back couple’s “best day of our lives,” and shared with us in the gallery here!
From The Bride…I always envisioned our wedding to have sort of an ethereal vibe – something that looked and felt elegant, but still laid back. Carmel was our first trip we took together as a couple and we fell in love with it, so when someone told us about Holman Ranch, we didn’t hesitate to check it out. It was actually the first place we looked at, and the last — I knew right away it was the place for us. Everything from the peaceful and private vibe, to the stunning mountain views, to that famous Holman tree…it just felt magical. It also didn’t hurt that Kyle’s Armenian side of the family came from a long line of grape farmers so it was fitting to get married at a vineyard.
Natalie Bowen’s flowers blew me away…I knew she was talented but she completely exceeded my expectations. Everything from my gorgeous, peony-filled bouquet, to each table’s unique arrangement, to the eucalyptus garlands on the chairs and the carriage house doors–she was completely aligned with my vision and knocked it out of the park.
I know it sounds cheesy and cliché, but our wedding day really felt perfect. It was the most amazing feeling knowing that our families and closest friends were all there to celebrate with us. And, thanks to our wedding planner, Simone Lennon and her team, Kyle and I were really able to enjoy the day and soak it all in. It was the best day of our lives…so far.
From Simone Lennon of Simone Lennon Events…As a couple, Katie and Kyle are laid back and easy going who love stylish design that involves simplicity, sensibility and elegance. Holman Ranch was the perfect venue for them as the space is full of natural beauty, charm and exclusivity.
When it came to designing their affair, we really wanted to create a relaxed day that felt seasonal yet effortlessly beautiful and timeless. With that in mind, we kept things simple yet impactful. Also, Katie was really inspired by whimsical organic, loose and colorful bouquets and floral garlands (which kind of became an unofficial theme to the day).
Our super talented floral designer, Natalie Bowen, designed large, lush Eucalyptus garlands that were featured throughout the entire event. Each garland was different and showcased various pastel colors of Peonies and Garden Roses with tucked in sprigs Lavender and Lilacs. She draped them across our ceremony chair backs, our welcome beverage station and the rustic wooden benches during the dance reception.
For our dinner tablescapes, we decided to keep the design in line with Holman Ranch’s rustic environment so we brought in wooden farms dining tables and cross back wooden chairs. We really wanted the floral to be the star of the design, so we used neutral colored hemstitch linens and ivory ornate china for the dinner reception. Natalie designed stunning colorful arrangements in mismatched copper, glass and gold foiled vessels. Each table had its own unique point of interest which caught guests’ interest as they mingled throughout the reception.
After a farm-to-table three coursed dinner and several heartfelt speeches by loved ones, guests moved on to the dance reception in the Carriage House. Just after sunset, Kyle and Katie cut into their three tiered whimsically ruffled cake and danced the night away to The Wall Street Band. Guests enjoyed coffee and cake while sitting in gorgeous vintage lounges or roasted marshmallows at the s’mores station close by.
