From the beautiful Bride... San Luis Obispo was my college town, and it was also the location of Philip and my first true weekend getaway as a couple. When it came time to wedding venue hunt, it was only natural to check out SLO. The first step we took on to La Cuesta Ranch, we knew it was the one, and it was truly the only venue we felt that way about. 360 degree views of rolling hills, a rustic barn housing the dance floor, and serene outdoor ceremony and reception spots. You literally feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but in reality are a few turns from Downtown SLO and all our favorite spots. La Cuesta Ranch felt like our own little hidden gem.

The wedding itself couldn’t have been more perfect. My husband is a designer by trade and really took on the role of Creative DIY Master during wedding planning. He took all my visions and brought them to life, from the signage to the seating cards. He designed more invitation prototypes than I can count and wouldn’t settle until it was perfect for us. He also mastered the homemade candles for our guests and tried incorporating as many personal touches as possible. His creative work coupled with our floral and event designer equated to pure magic. Rustic barn and vintage props against bright pops of gold and pinks. The entire day felt like a total dream. Instead of a photo booth, we brought the costume props to the dance floor and had our photographer capture everyone in their element there. The pictures and video came out priceless. At the end of the night, we didn’t want it to end so went through our sparkler exit 3 times! My advice to brides is to enjoy every moment with your husband, friends and family. Soak it up and don't sweat the small stuff. It goes fast!
