Coastal DIY Wedding in New South Wales
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a family to throw a great wedding. And this Australian affair is definitely a great wedding. From the Bride's stunning Karen Willis Holmes lace-bodice gown to the ceremony arbor constructed by the Groom and flowers arranged by the Bride's mother and sisters, this wedding is full of love and lovely details, all captured by At Dusk Photography. See it all here.
From The Bride...Our color palate was neutral, incorporating blue and grey tones. We tried to encapsulate a relaxed but elegant vintage feel while taking advantage of the beautiful coast line and surrounding ourselves with a mix of white florals and Australian native flowers.
Ben made our bamboo arbor that we we married beneath. He also made the chalk boards that greeted our guests. Ben also made the photography peg board that our friends and family took happy snaps and pegged them on to twine for us. We also did our own florals. My mother and two sisters went to the Sydney flower markets the day before the wedding at 3am to choose the florals and we spent much of the day before the wedding putting together all of the flowers for the day.
We also put together our own sweets table for the day, which formed part of our favors for our guests. We put together seed bags so that our guests could watch our love grow and hand made place settings from chocolate and lavender.
