#SMPWedding101 – Makeup Trial Tips
Confession: I have several Pinterest boards solely dedicated to favorite makeup looks. From bridal to beautifully bold lips, I've stashed enough pretty that'll make you blush. So, when I set out for my Bridal makeup trial with pretty picks in hand I thought I was armed and ready, but boy was I wrong! From what to wear to which questions ask your artist, we've got the talented Anita of Elan Makeup sharing her trial tips below!
ONE | Always set up a trial run or consultation with your artist BEFORE the wedding day to discuss options for your hair & makeup. Most clients seem to have an idea of what they are wanting, but we want to make sure you love the end result or have time to tweak anything before the Big Day.
TWO | Stay clear of trendy hair or makeup. I want clients to love their photos in 10 years and not regretting a style they chose because it was popular on-line during their planning process.
THREE | Wear a button down shirt, robe, zip up top or a tank top to ensure your hair & makeup does not get disturbed and stays perfect
FOUR | Start a beauty regimen 6-8 weeks before the big day to see real results and avoid getting harsh facials the week of the wedding
FIVE | Let your makeup artist know if you are tanning or are planning to tan. Most face moisturizers have SPF in them and your body might get a little darker than your face. They can correct the coloring for you, this way you are not two-toned on your wedding day.
SIX | Allow your makeup artist to block enough time off on the wedding day so that you won’t stress over time. Be sure to coordinate with your photographer for “getting ready” pictures. I usually like to have my clients ready about 2 hours before the ceremony for photos and earlier if they are planning on doing a first look. Yes it seems early, but I promise it flies by!
SEVEN | If you plan on removing your veil for the reception please let your artist know in advance so we can show your girls how to remove it without ruining your hair style
