This Bride and I are on the same wavelength. The goal: find a wedding venue that shines on it’s own, with subtle touches of decor and of course, pretty blooms. This soiree planned by In Awe Weddings And Events is proof that minimal detailing can have a BIG impact. Have a look for yourself in the full gallery from Rachel Solomon!
From In Awe Weddings and Events… The first time I met with Sara and Corey, they had a specific vision for what they wanted for their wedding–non-traditional, a fun reception and all outdoors. I knew they wouldn’t be happy with a typical wedding venue so I took them to a private home in North Scottsdale that they immediately loved. They knew it was where they wanted to get married and celebrate with their family and friends. They selected a food truck keeping in mind the non-traditional feel they wanted and worked with a caterer to meet the other dinner reception needs for their guests. The couple wanted the dinner seating to have a natural and romantic casual feel. Sara loved Nothing Bundt Cakes so Bundtinis were served instead of a traditional wedding cake. Their vision came to life and they had an amazing and intimate weekend.
From the Bride… Corey and I were engaged in Costa Rica in February of 2014. With both of us being from Wisconsin we had a hard time deciding where to be married—Wisconsin, Arizona or a destination wedding. At first, we were unsure where to start because we wanted a very simple and untraditional wedding.
After months of back and forth we found our wedding planner, Sandy Walker, with In Awe Weddings & Events. We settled on Scottsdale, Arizona and after a couple of conversations she provided us with the perfect venue to make our vision a reality.
We went to visit an estate in the desert of North Scottsdale with beautiful features. I had wanted a venue that was gorgeous on its own that required little decor for the wedding. The grounds had enough room to hold everything there, from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony and reception. We decided to get married in the front drive of the home in front of a gorgeous fountain with Pinnacle Peak in the background. The reception was simple and perfect with beautiful wooden vineyard chairs Sandy had suggested and simple floral arrangements. The wedding party looked great and the lighting was amazing.
For the reception we had a food truck (Roasted Shallot) that served various tacos, salad and small BLTs. We had dinner on the side of the house with views of the desert sunset. Corey and I were seated at our own table and it was so great to be able to take a moment to reflect on the amazing day we had. I couldn’t have asked for a better day!
