Contemporary Yacht Club Wedding in Perth

What did you do for your wedding favors? I'm personally loving Flights Of Fancy By Kristy idea of having a flower wrapping station where guests could wrap up some blooms to take home. Oh, that and this epic dessert cabinet (yum)! Marrying my love for sweets and pretty florals, this contemporary affair is one I'll definitely be bookmarking for my Big Day and Teneil Kable has shared it all in the gallery!

From Kristy from Flights Of Fancy By Kristy... From the moment I met Franky I loved her - she was so different to most of our other Brides. It was clear right from the start that the most important thing for her was marrying her Stephen and all the other things -- the decor, dress, food -- was just incidental. Of course, she still wanted the day to be special but she didn't want to go over the top with things.

As she and her Groom, Stephen, were both very relaxed, casual and down to earth people, we didn't want the styling to be too elaborate or fussy. We worked with a vintage industrial theme but then added a touch of prettiness to it by bringing in the mint and peach colours that Franky loved. We focused on just a few styling features - great lighting, a flower wrapping station where guests could wrap up some flowers to take home with them, and an epic dessert cabinet.

The venue was so perfect - basically a huge grassed area with an amazing backdrop of the Swan River. As it was such an open space we decided to "frame" an area, using a dance floor underneath festoon lights as the central feature, bordered by the dessert cabinet and flower wrapping station, a few dining tables and some industrial style benches.

There were a couple of food stations set up where guests could go up and get food whenever they were hungry - an Asian style station by Bangkok Jump Street as well as a spit roast by The Golden Roast. This style of food service contributed to the relaxed feeling of the event.

We got so lucky with the weather - it was perfect and sunny on the day of the wedding but the next morning when we returned to pack down it was dark and absolutely pouring with rain!

Teneil Kable was the perfect choice for this couple who wanted their photography to be as natural and relaxed as the rest of their day. Teneil did an incredible job capturing the emotion of the day as well as the styling details.

What I loved most about this wedding was that it wasn't a wedding with a huge budget but the couple were happy to spend in a few specific areas to create some wow factor. It was also really refreshing to work with a couple who maintained their focus on the real meaning of the day the whole way through -- they never got too caught up in the details. It was such a loving, warm and meaningful celebration -- a real pleasure to witness and be a part of!
