Whenever we are putting together weddings for SMP, we pay attention to the small things that really make a wedding lovely. Of course there are the flowers and the cakes, the invitations and the gowns. But there is also the look on the groom when he knows his bride is nearby. And then the moment he sees here. There is the joy that you can feel on every child’s face. And there are the photographs, like these from Alexandra Knight Photography, that tell the whole story to utter perfection. More here!
From Alexandra Knight Photography… Here’s a colorful summer wedding to brighten up any cloudy day! Missy & Chris said “I do” at Countryside Meadows in Arlington, Washington – about an hour north of Seattle last summer under standard-issue overcast weather. But Missy’s DIY decor and details brightened everything up. She chose a playful blue, aqua and yellow color palette and created her centerpieces and table runners by hand! The bright colors, combined with the bold red barn, were a beautiful combination together.
The barn’s ceremony space is rustic and country, without being far from the big city, and is so romantic. The chandelier above the altar was swoon worthy! Missy & Chris’ families helped with coordination, planning, and set up. Music, dancing, decor, invites, and more were all DIY. The couple even invited a magician to entertain guests at the cocktail hour and reception as an ode to a family friend!
Missy & Chris are such a sweet couple and a perfect pair together. They wanted the day to be beautiful without too much fanfare, and came up with their own ideas for design and decor instead of relying on a designer or websites for their plans.
From the Bride… Coordinating and planning our wedding ourselves was a lot of work but also a lot of fun. For the day of, would really suggest a wedding coordinator to organize the day, keeps a lot of the stress off the bridal party to have to arrange and organize everything. Take several moments throughout the day to step back and enjoy it for yourselves because all the months of planning goes by really fast in one crazy day!
