From L Hewitt Photography… Christine and Adam’s wedding wedding was held at the Aspen Institute at Wye River. Its grounds lie among sprawling countryside and have the feel of an old handsome plantation or estate, with its tree-lined paths, secret walled gardens, hedge corridors.
I can’t think of anywhere more romantic to wed than Christine and Adam’s ceremony site, nestled within the grove of weeping willows.
The couple worked with the talented ladies of Lemon and Lime Event Design to create an ambiance that was airy and natural for their wedding. The decor featured soft blushes and ivory florals and linens, rough wood for the canopy, twine wrapped bottles, lanterns and candles — all anchored by the glamour of gold painted bottles and chargers.
Many of the table decorations were made for functionality as well as pretty tablescapes. The goal was to reuse many of the things they made for their wedding in their own home. Adam constructed many of the boxes on the tables himself.
In the garden, party lights swayed in the breeze, and guests mingled among statuary and stately trees. Wreathed in clouds, the moon soared overhead as the couple made their way into the tent to greet their friends and family for the first time together as husband and wife.
Bay Country Bakery crafted small desserts for the guests, including doughnuts, which was new for me, and a delightful treat!
