A couple years back my husband and I took a trip to the Emerald Isle, and ever since then I’ve been kind of obsessed. We’ve not-so-secretly dreamed about our destination wedding “re-do,” and truth be told? It’d look exactly like this. Think an intimate ceremony set at the 13th century ruins of Corcomroe Abbey followed by a charming pub reception PLUS day-after portraits at the Cliffs of Moher. Lovies, this gallery from Kati Mallory is what Irish wedding dreams are made of.
From Kati Mallory Photo & Design… Adventurers Ashley & George knew when they got married that they wanted to provide an experience for their guests, and decided to host a destination wedding in Ireland. They exchanged vows in a beautiful 13th-century ruin, known as Corcomroe Abbey, surrounded by 25 of their closest friends and family. The ancient abbey proved to be the perfect setting for them, and matched their color palette of neutrals, greens and blues flawlessly.
Ashley wore a stunning, flowing Watters gown, and had a handmade blue cape to keep her warm in the cool Irish air. It matched her eyes perfectly, and with her simple, organic flower crown and loose white and green bouquet. She looked incredible.
After their heart-felt ceremony, everyone climbed into a bus and celebrated the night away at a traditional Irish pub in a nearby town. Decorated with wildflowers and candles galore, it was absolutely beautiful and very intimate. After a sit-down dinner, guests danced the night away to a local band, and everyone got a Moscow Copper Mule Mug designed with a celtic cross and the wedding date as a favor, which tied in with the Irish feel.
The next evening, we drove to the majestic Cliffs of Moher for a day-after session. The sun-soaked cliffs and beautiful water took my breath away – I wanted to shoot there for the rest of my days! The portraits from that trip were a dream, and I will cherish the memories and photos forever!
