Coming Home-An Elegant Backyard Wedding

I think that Father of the Bride changed weddings for all of us. It made a backyard wedding not only feel completely and utterly chic, it made us all want one. Like really, really bad. Because there is something so undeniably beautiful about taking your vows in the home where you played catch, toasting your love in the yard where you found family. Well, my friends, if Father of the Bride wasn’t enough, this backyard affair will most certainly have you ditching your plans. With photographs from Ace & Whim, this is the very definition of Homegrown Elegance. More here!

From Ace & WhimThere was one consistent feeling throughout the entire day of Mackenzie and Dylan’s wedding day. Peace. That feeling you only get when you go home. Back to the home you grew up in. Getting ready in the same room on your wedding day, that you got ready in for high school prom. Stopping in the hallway to look at the same mirror, you had looked at so many times through the years, but today was different. Today you’re a bride. Today, there is a man at the bottom of the staircase that is anxious to see you and hold you, because he knows, that today, you will become his wife.

As Mackenzie made her way down the spiral staircase to Dylan, her eyes lit up with joy. I am sure she had walked down those stairs of her childhood home, thousands of times, but today was so special. As she reached the bottom and they held onto one another, Mackenzie’s parents watched in the distance. Their little girl was getting married.

Dylan and Mackenzie were surrounded by friends and family as they said their vows under the gazebo in her parents backyard. The entire day had come together so beautifully. Florals and garland draped in all the right places. Bistro lights hung in anticipation for the party to come. Friends and family from across the country, gathered to witness this amazing day with the couple. The day could not have been more perfect for Mackenzie and Dylan.
