From the Bride… After nine years of being in a relationship Laz proposed in our favorite city, Chicago. It was one of the most exciting times in our lives, it was the day we had been waiting for a long time for. Exactly one year later I married my best friend on the most beautiful autumn day. The day was truly perfect from beginning to end.

Laz and I wanted our wedding day to be full of family and friends. Being from two large Greek families, our wedding was set to be a big affair. We had 280 guests who attended our wedding, many of which traveled near and far just to be able to spend the most important day of our lives with us.

Finding the perfect gown was truly an overwhelming experience. Unlike most brides who try on the first couple of dresses and fall in love right away, I did not experience this. During the dress searching period I tried on many gowns and I just never got that “it’s the one feeling”. It was five months before the wedding and I had to make a decision. Fortunately, I fell in love with my Anna Maier satin gown. On my wedding day I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt, and Laz looked especially handsome in a way I will always remember.

Being a person who loves designing and decorating I had a specific vision for the wedding. I wanted something unique but at the same time elegant and timeless. When we found Aria we knew it was the place where we wanted to have our reception. From the breath taking views and the elegant grand ballroom, the venue was exactly what we were looking for. When decorating I went with a cream, white, gold and blush palette to complement the elegant decor of the venue. Our flowers were a variation of tall and short full arrangements that complimented the venues high ceilings. Since, roses, hydrangeas and orchids are my favorite flowers and they are classic and romantic, I wanted them used throughout the entire décor. My two favorite pieces of decoration were the flower wall backdrop and the flower frame, they added a beautiful touch. The venue looked romantic and elegant just the way I envisioned it.

Coming from a traditional background my husband had one of the biggest surprises on our wedding day. Two of his uncles from Greece, who are famous musicians surprised him. They traveled all the way from Greece to be able to play at our wedding. My husband was in complete shock and joy at the same time. They played traditional music that our guests couldn’t get enough of. This was such a special moment during our reception that my husband still can’t get that surprise out of his mind.

We couldn’t have been more grateful for all the people who contributed to our wedding. Each person provided an outstanding service and their talents were truly remarkable. They helped us create the sweetest memories. I can’t help to think how lucky we were to have such wonderful people who supported us throughout this journey.

Our wedding day was filled with amazing food, good music, dancing, tradition, laughter and love. We had a smile on our faces the whole night. Looking back our wedding was unforgettable, we loved everything about our day and would not change a thing. It is true what they say- your wedding is the most memorable and happiest day of your life.
