Romantic Vintage Inspired Vineyard Wedding
When it comes to planning your wedding, it's important to pick a style that ties everything together. This bride, who happens to work in the wedding industry knew exactly what she wanted 'romantic vintage' and she had just that. Captured by Corina V. Photography every beautiful detail of this wedding is done to perfection here!
From the beautiful Bride... Making decisions about our wedding was pretty easy. We knew we wanted to have it at a vineyard with only our closest family and friends in attendance. Seeing as I work in the wedding industry I already knew which vendors we would use for our special day.
We stumbled upon our venue by accident while on our way to look at other venues. It was our first stop and every stop after that seemed to pale in comparison. It was so beautiful , was meant for a small wedding and had the gourmet food and great wine we were looking for.
We really wanted our wedding to be as enjoyable to for our guests as much as it was for us. After a ceremony under the apple trees we went off to do photos with Corina while our guests enjoyed a wine tour. Afterwards everyone gathered on the deck which we had transformed into a vintage lounge for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers. We set up a Selfie photo prop station so guests could have fun taking their own photos. It was a real hit and some of those images are my favourites.
If I had to give our wedding a theme I would call it Vintage Romance. We live in a Victorian home and I tried to bring those elements into the wedding. It helped that the venue also has a beautiful Victorian home on the property. I contacted Krista from KJ& Co. who has amazing vintage rentals and I knew had a similar design style to my own. She had a fabulous fireplace that we used as the back drop for our ceremony. It was adorned with a gorgeous floral swag created by florist Lori of Sticks and Stems. I had an old french door that was taken out of our home during a renovation. I painted it and wrote down our days events on it. I hand painted other signs for the ceremony as well.
The reception was inside a coach house. It was very cute but needed decor. The fireplace from the ceremony was re-purposed in this room as well as the signing table turned into our cake table. The cake had details of lace, buttons and pearls which suited the theme but also played on the fact that I am a professional wedding gown designer. I originally wanted long harvest tables but that was providing too many challenges. I am not a big fan of table cloths but once I found an embroidered silk, I decided to make my own overlays. Originally I had said I wasn’t going to do a lot of DIY with the wedding, but in the end I ended up doing a lot of it!
Ryan’s grown children were our best man and maid of honour. The guys wore black suits with champagne shirts and ties. I made the gowns for myself and my future step-daughter. Both were created in lace from France. Hers being a blush pink and gold and mine was Ivory with a champagne lining. I designed an overlay to wear for dinner and changed into a lace cocktail dress for later. We got ready at home and took a vintage Rolls Royce to the ceremony. Seeing our guests waiting as we drove up the long and winding road to the vineyard is one of my fondest memories of the day.
Our ceremony was peppered with personal details that our officiant included in the ceremony. We also did a rose ceremony with our moms which they thoroughly enjoyed. Because it was a small group we were able to do a lot of photos with all of the guest.
For the reception, we didn’t do a traditional head table. We sat with our parents while the bridal party sat with their partners at different tables. We wanted the dinner to have a dinner party atmosphere, like something we would host at home. If anyone wanted to get up and make a toast or a speech they just stood up and did it at their table. After dinner everyone went back outside for coffee and cake. We didn’t want the night to end, however it was nice to spend some time alone gushing about what an amazing day we had! Everything turned out perfectly!
