From Adeline & Grace Photography... Francine and Jay are the most fun-loving couple we've ever worked with—their love of life and laughter is immediately apparent when you meet them. Their beautiful springtime wedding took place in Campovida, and utilized several areas of the expansive property. Francine's family is Dutch and so the wedding theme featured orange, the Dutch national color, as well as tulips, which are the national flower. The dress code was black tie, and guests were encouraged to wear hats for the ceremony, another Dutch tradition. Jay, a proud Detroit native, had special custom tuxedo shoes to show his hometown pride. Campovida is an organic farm, so we wanted everything to feel natural— the ceremony was under an old oak tree on the property, and aisle arrangements were created without vases, to look as if they were growing out of the ground. After the ceremony, guests strolled through the property's various floral pathways to the Tuscan Garden where they enjoyed a Hendricks Gin specialty bar, with drinks infused with seasonal fruit flavors. After cocktails guest were invited to the Hop Barn to dine at long farm tables under a soft glow of market lights. To show their Dutch pride, Francine's entire family had some sort of orange accent to their outfits, so each guest was given an orange handkerchief as a favor so they too could join in on the fun. The handkerchiefs were tied with a little dutch clog napkin rings at each place setting. Francine and her family have lived all over the world, including Malaysia, Italy, and Hong Kong. The menu featured some of the family's favorite recipes from the countries they've lived in, including a Dutch cheese station. After dinner, the guests headed to a custom tent for a night of dancing with the 80's band "Mustache Harbor" and Jay changed into a custom orange tuxedo for the first dance! After the band set, the party goers danced into the wee hours of the night with a silent disco to finish the night.
