From The Bride…I loved every moment of it! Waking up to a bite of blueberries and bacon at my sister’s house, hair and make up with the ladies while continuing to eat the breakfast spread Tracy prepared, while knowing the guys were just downstairs getting manned up in their suits and drinking beer.

Donning of the dress (and shoes)! And the heartfelt look on everyone’s face once this beautiful gown transformed me into the bride. Tying of the ribbon…It had to be perfect. And it was, thanks to Caroline Tran, ribbon expert of the occasion. When I went wedding dress shopping, the assistant at Monique Lhuillier asked me what I envisioned in the wedding dress. I replied, “lots of lace, poof, and a large pink bow”. It’s what I wanted since I was a little girl, and Hannah helped me find it!

The vows. It was such a special moment with so many people around, but for the two of us, it was just him and me. While our guests were enjoying cocktail hour, we were stolen up to a beautiful lookout where there was so much space. We looked down and saw the entire celebration and heard the distant chatter of our happy guests. We couldn’t be more pleased. With the sun setting in the perfect spot, and being surrounded by nothing, yet so much, this is the first moment it really set in that we loved each other in a new and amazing way, as husband and wife.

It’s all about you and your husband to be. There is a certain stigma about the way weddings should be. But really, with good planning and fresh ideas, you can create a wedding that is your past, present and future. Since we enjoy our lives being outside, hiking, exploring, and traveling, we had to be outside. Thus, our venue was at a vineyard in the mountains with a farmhouse. We always see cute chocolates and fancy edibles on tables at other weddings, but we like fruit, so berries were tastefully placed next to candles and plants for our guests to enjoy. I love flowers and plants, but have not figured out how to keep them alive. At home, I really only keep succulence, and this is what our guests took home and enjoyed at the reception.

As the bride and groom, wedding day is amazing and you want to soak in every moment. Realistically and logistically, you don’t have the ability to be everywhere, so make sure you have a photographer and videographer who can be. They can capture the moments you couldn’t, and you get to see the wedding from even more amazing perspectives as you see what your guests were up to and what you missed while you were enjoying yourselves elsewhere.
