From the vendor team... Alison Conklin will be shooting Kimberly Pesch of EatSleepWear's upcoming May wedding in Hawaii, and in preparation for the wedding, Alison and Kimberly went out in California to shoot some bridal inspiration.

From Kimberly Pesch... Gearing up for my wedding on May 28th, I wanted to dream up some California inspired wedding style with my incredible wedding photographer Alison Conklin. I love being able to fully discover new bridal collections. I was able to try on Monique Lhuillier’s newest collection. I always love her mermaid silhouettes and beautiful lace work. I wanted to take every opportunity to try on as many dress styles as possible in preparation for selecting the perfect style for my own wedding. Can I please play dress up in bridal everyday?

Alison and I wanted to showcase the collection in the beautiful California landscape that I call home. A little mix of urban LA with the out of this world view in Malibu. We started our day in downtown LA soaking in the rich textures of the arts district. The lace was such a great contrast to downtowns rugged edge. We then drove up the coast and made out way out to Malibu. Rustic rolling fields were the perfect backdrop for these gowns. We ended by the beach with one of my unexpected favorite dresses. A shorter cropped gown where you could just barely see my ankles and I could run through the sand. Doesn’t every bride want to be barefoot on the sand? It was the perfect day collaborating with my favorite people in the world. I could not be more excited to be heading to Maui, Hawaii for my wedding taking place next week!

From Alison Conklin... It was mid March when we left the cold snowy east coast for sunny and warm California. Geoff and I love Cali as we were married out there 9 years ago. Being able to photograph Kimberly in some of Monique Lhuillier’s newest gowns was a dream. Kimberly and I became fast friends after shooting her engagement photos in Philadelphia many months back, and we knew that shooting her where she lived now would be a great addition to her wedding story.

We had decided on some urban shots in LA to start. We drove around until we found a street that had great color and textured walls. My favorite was a door opening with a green facade that was chipping bit. The sun was bright that afternoon and made for some dramatic portraits. After that we headed to Malibu and found some incredible mountainous landscapes. My favorite image in this series is the one of Kimberly walking through the field. Lastly, Kimberly knew of this perfect secluded beach where there are hundreds of steps down to the water. At the top of the steps there was a field of bright yellow flowers that created such a gorgeous backdrop for those delicate lace gowns. When we made our way to the beach it was breathtaking and the sun was starting to set. The last dress had a shorter crop which seemed made for running down the beach and standing on the rocks. It was an ideal day and just a small preview of what's to come for Kimberly and Blake's wedding next week!!
