Colorful Puerto Vallarta Destination Wedding
Inspired by the bride's Mexican heritage, this colorful destination wedding captured by Sarah McKenzie Photography is the perfect blend of fun & lots of pretty. With handmade touches like the groomsmen boutonnieres which the bride made herself to napkin holders with lyrics from the couples first dance, there are so many gorgeous details to this wedding here!
From the Bride ... Inspired by my Mexican culture, I wanted to create romance and elegance by incorporating lavish colors and rich textures. Spanish inspired with touches of contemporary chic. I wanted to embrace the setting but not minimize the details I envisioned. When searching destination resorts I desired a site on the beach but not in the sand. Once I came across the breathe taking architectural pillars at Grand Velas, I knew this is where my fairy tale must transpire.
I wanted to embellish the already gorgeous pillars with simple greenery garland enhanced by plush, vivid david austin roses and lisianthus. For the receptions I started with mint lace fabric I found on Etsy and ombre pink bridesmaids dresses. I met with three different local Houston linen providers looking for the right color and found it in a bold, rich raspberry linen. Which compliment my blushing mint runners to perfection. For the sweetheart table I chose a glitzy gold sequined linen softened by greenery garland. I adore the use calligraphy to give decor a unique embellishment. I had napkin wraps created with the lyrics to our first dance to give a sentimental touch to the table.
Floral is vital to capturing the essence of Spanish allure. To create this I choose vibrant yellow, orange and pink flowers paired with exotic succulents for my centerpiece. Finally staying true to the location, each place setting had it's own personalized mini tequila bottle.
