Glamorous La Jolla Ballroom Wedding
Before she was even engaged, this gorgeous bride was browsing SMP for inspiration (obviously!). Now, it's her turn to inspire brides-to-be with her glamorous wedding at Estancia La Jolla. Coordinated by Bliss Events, every aspect of this wedding is dripping in pretty, from the glittery La Tavola Linens to the Brightly Designed invitation suite. See all the beauty, captured by B. Miller Photography, in the gallery.
From the Bride... From the beginning, Rich and I both established that our guests having a good time was our #1 wedding priority! For him, that meant a top-shelf open bar all night and an abundance of tasty food. For me, it meant good music and an awesome space that really allowed our guests to move around, mingle, dance, and enjoy each other and the night.
Visually, I wanted grandeur that wasn't overstated; glamorous and elegant, but not over the top. My vision was lots of golds and creams with pops of color. I love jade and mint, but also wanted to add a softness and femininity with light pinks. I looked at LOTS of pictures (many from SMP) and tried to identify what the ones I loved had in common. I took inspiration from a lot of different places, and accumulated various ideas before I was even engaged…
I saw the flipbook booth at a corporate event I attended and knew I wanted it at our wedding.
Rich and I saw a cigar roller on a "Four Weddings" episode when we first dating, and I promised him then it would be in our wedding if we made it that far. I am always starving by the end of the night at weddings, so I knew I wanted late night snacks for our guests. I have an insatiable sweet tooth so the dessert bar was a no-brainer. (This was an obvious priority as we ended up using three different vendors just for desserts!) And Paper- I LOVE PAPER so that was literally the first vendor we met with and it was a match from the get-go. Every little detail was discussed, colors compared and it was so important to me to have coordinating paper goods throughout the entire process from Save the Dates to the Wedding Day.
We wanted an amazing experience for our guests that hit all the important small details we had hoped for and it was definitely achieved. The color palette we had which was guided a lot by our Coordinator, Paige, still gets me excited!
