A few weeks ago, I had the honor of meeting the crazy talented mind behind Smith + James Events and this gorg shoot. Not only is she one of the most cheerful (and hilarious) people I’ve ever met, but she’s got a whole lotta heart for weddings, and it shines bright in this slice of pretty captured by Kurt Boomer. There’s nary a bloom, but rather a fresh pairing of olive branch designs from Heirloom Design House and modern goodness—a marrying of organic and geometric, and it’s sooo good.
From Smith + James Events…Our inspiration for the shoot was romantic minimalism. We wanted to keep the palette simple, chic, and modern. There is a fun juxtaposition in pairing clean, geometric shapes with the softness of all the olive branches. Crystal from Heirloom Design House kept those olive branches feeling dynamic instead of redundant, which is really key when executing a bloom-less design.
Utilizing vertical space always feels so elegant, so we used hanging branches for the escort card display. For the tablescape, bundles of olive branches and a chandelier were hung from the arbor above to give a little wow factor. We really love to create a vibe with each of our designs, and we love the relaxed, chic vibe of this shoot.
