From The Bride… Gavin and I were friends in college and I always had a crush on him, but we started dating once Gavin lived in Orange County and I lived in San Diego. We did long distance for a few months, then I moved to Orange County and never looked back! I actually had a one-way ticket booked to NYC after college, but I cancelled it after we had been dating for 2 months because I had a feeling it was going somewhere! I was right… Gavin proposed in Hawaii and we got married on August 23, 2014.

My gown was Steven Yearick, bought it at Mon Amie in Costa Mesa, CA and my shoes were from BHLDN. One of my favorite accessories was my bouquet—I had a locket with a photo of my father who passed away 5 years ago, so that he could be with me when I walked down the aisle. This was my something old, because the locket (a gift from my maid of honor) was from a vintage flea market. My something borrowed was also very special to me; I wore diamond studs with a diamond halo that were given to my mom by my dad.

I would describe the overall style of the wedding as romantic and classic. We used a lot of greys, whites, and some peach. Gavin and I were also inspired by our travels and used this to inspire a DIY project for the wedding. For the seating arrangements, we did love locks, like the ones in Paris. Gavin and I went to Paris several years ago and locked our love on the bridge, so we had guests lock their love too. Gavin also gave me a Tiffany ring with a heart lock on it, for my wedding present.

We're big foodies, so the menu was very important to us and it was actually one of my favorite parts. We designed it with the chef at the Riviera Mansion and with his help, picked out every ingredient in the menu. I am also allergic to gluten, so the entire menu was gluten free also. We have a garden at home, so for the favors, we chose to give seed packets with seeds of the ingredients in the dinner entrees.

Some highlights of my favorite moments of the day were our first look, first dance, and also throwing the bouquet off the Mansion balcony—super fun!

The thing I loved most about our wedding though, is that Gavin was involved in every step of the process (he literally helped pick out every last detail) so the entire day really seemed like it was something that we hand picked out together, and that it was a true reflection of us.

From The Riviera Mansion Lindsey and Gavin are -- simply put -- a stunning couple, and their classic August wedding highlighted the mansion in such a beautiful way.

Lindsey and Gavin’s ceremony took place on the garden lawn, where they were married under a mahogany arch adorned with white and peach hydrangeas, roses, and chrysanthemums arranged by Sweet Blossom Designs.

During the cocktail hour, delicious seasonal appetizers were passed around on the front lawn while guests enjoyed lawn games and sipped signature cocktails—an Old Fashioned for the groom and a Ginger Margarita for the bride.

The couple worked closely with our chef to create a carefully curated menu whose highlights included mole eggplant crostini with current relish and Sriracha, wild arugula salad with Humboldt fog goat cheese, fresh figs, and citrus pistachio vinaigrette. Guests had the main entrée choice of grilled prawns, sea scallops served with sharp cheddar polenta and roasted Brussels sprouts or off the bone short ribs with cabernet current demi glace served with baby French greens beans and honey, sea salt & toasted walnut yam mash.

Lindsey’s passion for food shone through in our meetings with her, and we love that she actually used the menu as inspiration by having seed packets with the seeds of the ingredients included in the dinner entrees as favors.

From Lindsey’s dress, to the peach accents, to the love-lock seating arrangements, every detail came together to make the Riviera Mansion the perfect backdrop for this charming wedding. We were so honored to hold such a beautiful couple's nuptials at our venue.
