This summer celebration was both elegant and stunning, and special and intimate, all at the same time. Taking place in the Groom’s childhood backyard, guests were transported to a garden wedding wonderland complete with a gorgeous green wreath taking center stage above the dance floor. From Docuvitae… A beautiful backyard wedding in the groom’s childhood home in Hancock Park. The overall mood was simple, effortlessly elegant and romantic. Colors were lavender and soft pink, cream, ivory, champagne, sage green. All long tables with ivory linens with lots of greenery (especially olive branch) paired with lush blooms and accents. The overall look was relaxed and natural but still contained. Romantic, ruffly, and garden (not wildflower). Peonies, roses, hydrangea, lavender, olive branches, herbs, clematis, and a ton of candles. The huppah was made of multiple birch branches and adorned with lots of foliage and organic floral clusters in the softer end of the wedding spectrum. Foliage and flowers also adorned the base, as though they were growing out of the ground around the chuppah. The feel was lush, natural and organic. Chuppah was draped with an heirloom lace cloth that had been in the grooms family. Aisle decor had potted herbs and lavender that were clustered in vignettes along both sides of the aisle. The pots were wrapped in a simple neutral material such as linen.
Guests tables had a mix of two different scenarios. One was lush floral arrangements with roses, peonies, hydrangea, and accents interspersed with small satellite floral pieces in mint julep cups and lots of candles. The other tables had an abundant garland made of olive branches to stretch across the table, forming a runner mixed with pillar candles in hurricanes of several sizes that went down the center of the table, with the olive branches woven through them. A few simple clusters of flowers accented the garland and provided a few pops of color.
All the bride wanted was a greenery wreath structure that hung over the dance floor that had olive branches along with eucalyptus, vines, etc. It was lushly covered with greenery trailing down interspersed with floral clusters in the lavender and soft pink, cream, ivory, champagne, sage green.
To keep things with the theme, the dinner was summery and fresh. The first course was a spun Jicama, Grapefruit and Burnt Red Cabbage Salad with Baby Red Lettuces and a Margarita Vinaigrette. The main course was served Family Style with French service of Sliced Beef Tenderloin with Madeira Wine Sauce and a Miso Marinated Sea Bass with Maitake Mushrooms. The sides were placed on the tables: Asparagus with Shaved Watermelon Radish and Lemon Vinaigrette, Roasted Baby Artichokes with Weiser Farms Amarosa Potatoes with Fresh Rosemary and Summer Vegetable Gratin. Dessert was Mini Ice Cream Sandwiches, Chocolate Chip Cookie & Chocolate / Oatmeal Cookie and Fig Balsamic, wedding cake and donuts made to order.
