From Theresa Valls of Altura Studio…. Nothing feels cooler than sherbet shades in the warm days of August. Looking back over Erin and John’s summer wedding, I can’t help but think of an ice cream shop – all those yummy colors lined up for the choosing.

Erin chose ivory lace for her strapless gown and her bridesmaids wore a peachy apricot. The bridesmaids’ dresses echoed the ruched strapless bodice of Erin’s dress, but with a flowing chiffon shirt. The dresses were terrifically flattering for all the girls varying heights and shapes, and they all seemed comfortable all day long.

Her groom John wore a three-piece cotton suit, while the groomsmen donned just the vest and pants. It was an easygoing but dressed-up look for the guys. And comfortable, too, since August in the Pacific Northwest can be hot for a man in a suit.

Erin’s bouquet included dahlias in soft pinks through cream, English roses, delicate ranunculus, and tiny blue forget-me-nots. John’s boutonniere consisted of a simple white rosebud, accented with a single hydrangea blossom and a sprig of grey lambs ear. The already-pretty gazebo required just a simple spray-style arrangement of seasonal flowers. Erin choose single-color stems of white and blue hydrangea for the outdoor tables. For the ballroom tables, she had simply arranged beautiful seasonal dahlias and grey-green lambs ears in vintage mason jars. Handmaid heart-shaped table numbers elevated the look to suit the all-white tabletops.

When I asked the bride, Erin about her inspiration for her wedding day, she said this, “We were inspired by classic themes accompanied by natural beauty. This is why we chose the breathtaking setting of The Aerie. We had hoped for a beautiful summer day surrounded by beauty, family, and love. We wanted to spend the day celebrating our love for one another surrounded by those who love and care about us.”
