From the Bride’s sister, Owner of 6PenceSix and half years after meeting, Dave and Stefani tied the knot on a beautiful late summer’s day at the fully restored 1910 Edwardian-style Kirkland House in Ladner, BC. Stefani wanted an elegant Southern feel to the wedding, accomplished with the reception held at the 112 year old Harris Barn, also located on the Kirkland house property.

The bridesmaids each wore a dress of their choosing in navy chiffon, with florals by Floralista, Stella and Dot jewelry, and hair and makeup by the Carla Hawksworth team. Stefani wore a Madison chiffon ball gown with her sisters veil (her “something borrowed”) paired with a piece of heirloom jewelry from her grandmother and blush Badgely Mischka shoes. The Groom and his men wore charcoal gray suits from Black and Lee.

Dave and Stefani were wed in the beautifully landscaped garden of the Kirkland House. After the ceremony the guests were treated to drinks and appetizers, while enjoying the sunshine and lawn games.

The couple’s dog, Houston (named for the Groom’s favourite football team) joined them for a few portraits following the ceremony.

The reception was decorated simply, allowing the true beauty of the refinished barn to shine. Silver and white linens coupled with mercury glass accents, fresh greenery with white and pink florals and silver charger plates polished the table scape. Each place setting was adorned with a small white box tied with a navy bow containing pieces of handmade caramel – the Groom’s five times great grandmother’s recipe, lovingly made by the Bride and her new family for the wedding.

Café lights strung above, the head table sat in front of the sliding barn door, framed with white draping and stunning floral tie-back installations.

A seating lounge provided by Bespoke Rentals allowed guests to sit back and relax as the evening went on. Dessert was a bridal compromise: a pumpkin cake with hazelnut buttercream. The cake was joined by a selection of mini pies (raspberry peach, lemon meringue and apple pie) as well as a surprise for the Groom – delicious candied bacon!
