I love when a couple takes charge and creates their own ‘wedding fingerprint’, as I like to call it—their own style-stamp that radiates every inch of who they are. This gorgeous duo did just that with their Art Deco-inspired day. The Bride donning a vintage-style number from Allure Bridals and the Groom with his hints of skull detailing. Aren’t they stunning? From Cly By Matthew… This wedding was a perfect combination of colors and details for an elegant Fall wedding. Lace, gold and burgundy colors really complimented each other. The Bride is a big fan of Alexander McQueen and the groom wanted to impress her with his skull print details.
From the Bride… I wanted my wedding dress to have a vintage feel to go with our Art Deco themed wedding. After searching high and low, I finally found the gorgeous Allure gown I wore. It was very formfitting with straps, a v-neck neckline, and a very small train. The fabric color was cappuccino which I loved (I didn’t want traditional white) and was a silk cappuccino slip with a gorgeous sheer overlay with delicate crystals in a flower pattern. It was so comfortable!
Since I am nontraditional, I did not wear a veil but instead wore a gorgeous vintage rhinestone hair clip that my sister got me as an engagement gift. For jewelry I wore my great-grandmother’s antique Aquamarine and seed pearl necklace that was over 100 years old. I also wore my mother’s diamond stud earrings.
Since Chris and I are the same height, I needed to wear flats. It was incredibly difficult to find a pair of flats that went with the color of my dress, but I miraculously found these adorable blue rhinestone Betsey Johnson ankle flats that I wore. The fabric matched my dress perfectly, and I loved the subtle blue rhinestones.
Our theme was Art Deco with gold and burgundy as the main colors, which are my two favorite colors. I love everything vintage, and the art deco/1920’s era has always inspired me. There is something so romantic about the “Golden Age”. Every detail incorporated the theme, from the Art Deco printed pieces (ceremony programs, escort cards, table numbers, menus, etc.) to the gold sequin tablecloths, to the bridal party attire, to the wedding cake, to the cocktail hour music, to the mercury glass votives and vases.
