From Bia Sampaio… I knew when I met Sara and Mike that they were going to have a fun wedding. They could not stop smiling talking about the wedding day and talking about how much fun they awaited to have.

The wedding was not just fun but also filled with incredible details.

From the Bride… Mike and I knew we wanted to get married in a vineyard even before we were engaged. We both love the outdoors and thought it was important to get married under a big open sky. When we saw Martha Clara, we fell in love and wanted to book it right away!

For our decor we chose a rustic theme that blended well with Martha Clara’s barn reception hall and the outdoor ceremony space. We used wooden boxes to hold our flowers — we went with neutrals mixed with succulents and wrapped the bouquets in burlap. We turned decor details over to two of the most amazing vendors: Laura Mastriano, our wedding planner/super hero, and florists Nancy and Elizabeth of Open House Country. They transformed Martha Clara’s rustic barn space into a warm and cozy home — for 200 people! Laura was the driving force in turning our ideas into reality and we could not have been more pleased with how it came out.

Our photographer Bia Sampaio was also amazing. With Bia you feel like another friend is with you getting ready, but she is really capturing every moment on film! We love our photos!

Mike wore a custom navy suit by P Johnson which was timeless and simple. I tried on a few dresses but fell in love with Modern Trousseau. Their designs are so unique and I think they are beautiful in their simplicity and the care that goes into the making of each one. I wore a strapless version of their Sage design with a satin ribbon.

My favorite part of the day was walking/dancing back down the aisle with Mike after our ceremony to amazing music played by the Whistling Wolves, a Brooklyn based bluegrass band. My heart was literally bursting when they broke into Vance Joy’s “Riptide” on the way out and when they played “Longing to Belong” by Eddie Vedder as I walked down the aisle under a huge open vineyard sky.

During all of the planning Mike and I just tried to remember that the day is about us and celebrating our lives together. The best advice I can give is to enjoy the day, every minute of it! Don’t worry about whether you hair is out of place or about pictures. Just remember that this day should be the happiest, most carefree day of your life. Enjoy and let go!
