This beautiful Bride’s bouquet just made my list of top ten favorites of all time. Full of Venice orchids, the striking elegance of the all-white florals by the talented Flowers By Semia cascading out of the bouquet stole my breath away and made this wedding a winner immediately. But there is plenty more beauty where it came from, all captured by Joyelle West and this gallery won’t be one I forget anytime soon.
From The Bride… Matt and I live in Boston but we enjoy spending our summer weekends in Rhode Island where he grew up. When it finally came time for us to look at wedding venues it wasn’t a difficult choice to make. I had always wanted a garden wedding, and Matt, an avid boater, had always envisioned a location on the water; the Glen Manor checks both of these boxes. The Glen is a really perfect venue for a wedding. The estate and grounds are stunning but still very intimate, which helps to make everything feel more like a big party in a beautiful home, as opposed to traditional wedding venues which can sometimes feel stuffy or impersonal. Matt and I are laid back people and just wanted our guests to have fun.
The wedding vibe we were trying to achieve was laid-back elegance. I love mixing textures and soft color palettes. The tablescapes were created using a variety of champagne, ivory and gold textiles, and a mix of compote and multi vase floral arrangements by the amazing team at Flowers by Semia. The florals they provided for the wedding party were outrageously beautiful – I loved how the bridesmaid’s bouquets worked to tie together their mismatched Amsale dresses. My bouquet was a mix of Venice orchids and Alabaster Roses.
Some of my favorite wedding projects involved the smaller details, like sourcing vintage stamps on Ebay for our invitations, to collecting props that matched our theme. The vintage wicker suitcase used to display the pashmina guest favors was something I found at the Cambridge Antique Market. I loved collaborating with the girls from Darling Creative Co. for some of the finishing touches that really made the wedding feel special. Julie Madden and Kristen Barrett are the creative geniuses behind all of the paper, tags and signage as well as the amazing vintage birdcage which they transformed into a “wishing well.” Kristen and Julie were godsends in the final month before the wedding.
Lastly, a big thank you to Joyelle West for the beautiful photographs, and our “glam squad” Nicole Grecco (for hair) and Nikki Roth (for makeup).
