Dreamy Amelia Island Yacht Club Wedding
When you think of a beach wedding, you typically picture the bride in a light, breezy chiffon dress—simple, but elegant. Luckily for us (and for our wedding boards on Pinterest!), this beautiful Bride wanted more. Beautiful lace, romantic draping and delicate beading is only the beginning of what makes this gown such a stunner. The real magic is the detachable train cascading ruffles, giving the lovely Bride two dresses in one. Take a look through the gallery to see the gown in all it's beautiful glory, and all the details that make this wedding so dreamy.
From The Bride...I am originally from the Northeast and recently my husband and I relocated to his home state of sunny Florida 9 months before our wedding. Since he had proposed on the beach near our new home and we knew we would stay in Florida for years to come we chose to host a destination wedding with our closest family and friends. We had a weekend long celebration, a cozy dinner with the wedding party the Thursday prior, a welcome cocktail event for all guests in downtown Fernandina Beach the night before the wedding and then the big day at a private yacht club overlooking the Intercoastal. We kept our guest list small, only 79 people attended our laid back absolutely beautiful day.We wrote our own vows in which we read to each other causing ourselves and our guests to both laugh and cry. I made a ton of decor on my own via Pinterest spending many nights and weekend at local craft stores and antique shows. and worked closely with a graphic designer friend on the invitations, signage and handmade headpiece. We wanted our guests to feel at home so we chose a causal location, added table numbers that were highlights of the year of our lives, each capturing a different photo from our life, we strung photos of our family over the years above the bar and incorporated our parents wedding photos throughout the venue. Almost everything you saw was made by myself, my now husband, our florist or our designer friend, which meant a lot to us. We rented large school buses to transport everyone from the Omni hotel throughout all of the weekend events so no one had to worry about driving or getting lost. We chose an amazing band, Last2Leave that got everyone on the dance floor before dinner was even over for the entire night! Our family took off their shoes and put their feet in the pool, while our uncles lit up cigars and relaxed. We couldn't of asked for a more perfect day.
