Romantic Fall Vancouver Wedding
This Bride, an avid Downton Abbey fan, took the show's elegant, almost regal style, and ran with it as wedding inspiration, and I must say, she totally rocked it. The finished results are moody and romantic, luxurious and just downright stunning, all captured for us to ogle at by Dallas Kolotylo. See it all here!
From Dallas Kolotylo Photography... "Marsala, the colour of the year for 2015: a naturally robust and earthy wine red, a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth." If you love the colour of the year and romance you will love this wedding!
From the Bride... Our inspiration for our wedding started off with our favourite season - fall. The leaves changing colours and the nature surrounding the season inspired us to choose our colour scheme. As an obsessed crazed fan of Downton Abbey, we used the vintage feel to inspire the décor, with a new-age twist. We wanted to capture the elegance and gracefulness of those times with hints of modern touches.
We woke up to a cloudy and rainy backdrop and immediately started to do the sun dance in the hotel room - glad to say it worked! The sun came out and it ended up being a gorgeous, picturesque fall day. We feel the colours we chose also complemented the venue beautifully. We kept it small and intimate - only close friends and family joined us for the occasion. The venue was so elegant and romantic, everything we envisioned our day to be. The brick complemented the colour scheme and décor and the elegant setting captured the day so beautifully. We wanted to find a way to incorporate family who weren’t able to make it, so we used old photographs in our décor as a tribute to our loved ones.
Food was the most important thing - we wanted our guests to eat well, drink well and enjoy themselves! It was all about keeping the guests happy. Having our wedding hosted by Brix surpassed our expectations - the food and staff were so friendly and professional, and the venue was absolutely perfect for us. We were so lucky to be able to work with such amazing vendors, all truly professionals. My favourite part of the day was dancing the night away to the sounds of Mark Anthony among other Latin sensations while watching my adorable grandparents who have been married for 65 years steal the show by out dancing everyone there.
We exited to a sea of sparklers into a 1938 vintage Buick limo. It was a perfect way to end a romantic fall night.
