I love when I see lavender at weddings, the simple beauty, the calming color, the intoxicating scent. It’s a no brainer and all of the little touches of lavender at this rustic summer celebration has me pinning away. Sleepy Hollow Country Club, where their wedding took place, used to be the Vanderbilt house. Perched atop a hill side with views of the Hudson, its classic architecture and detail were a great contrast to the couple’s relaxed nature. They wanted their wedding to be fun, full of love and have a relaxed feel to it. Candid photographs were the most important to them to capture all the small moments that make up a wedding day: a kiss, a hug, holding hands as the emotions run through them and all their loved ones. They had a friend officiate their wedding, and they recited their own vows. And then they danced the night away!
