Two words, SMPers: bridal pantsuit. It’s a chic look this bride pulled off with total ease, and set the stage for a courthouse wedding done oh SO right. Christine Doneé Photography came along to document the day, and you better believe we’ll be obsessing in the gallery for a sweet, long time.
From The Bride…We had to put together our wedding pretty quickly, so we had to move fast on everything. But somehow it came together better than imagined, and it was a fun, important project for us to work on as a couple! I think it made it more exciting to be under the pressure of time actually!
I designed my suit and had a seamstress put it all together for me. Since we were getting married in none other than Beverly HIlls, I wanted something 60’s – 70s inspired, but timeless and formal. Bianca Jagger was my initial inspiration, and my original sketch for a jumpsuit eventually evolved into separates. We were able to make Will’s bow-tie and pocket square out of the same fabric (white silk crepe) used for my suit by my lovely pattern maker.
The bouquet and boutonniere were a surprise from my best friend, who was a witness at the ceremony with her husband. Her good friend, Barb from Running Wild Florals, is an absolute artist and worked with us to create the perfect arrangement. Since Will is Dutch, I was obsessed with having the Dutch flower represented, and we both knew we loved the color orange (which also happens to be the national Dutch color!). So the orange “parrot tulips” were the star of the arrangement, and we couldn’t have been more pleased.
Both of our rings came from local LA designers – a pale yellow diamond splice for me and a matte gold band for Will. They, along with everything else from the day, were the perfect representation of us and an exciting way to begin our next adventure together.
