Classic St. Louis Cathedral Wedding with a Stylish Twist
On a blog where details reign Queen, it's sometimes a nice respite to fall into a wedding where the only detail necessary is a gorgeous bouquet and a couple so in love you can nearly feel it. These photographs from Hawes Photography tell a love story to utter perfection and the pretty that is sprinkled on top? Merely a bonus. Click here for so much more.
From Hawes Photography... Margaret works in fashion in New York City... and it shows. She brought loads of her classic turned funky aesthetic to her October wedding in St Louis. The classic elements of the day are steeped in tradition - prepping for the day in monogrammed sleeping shirts, a groom in a perfectly tailored tux, a mid-day ceremony at the historic Cathedral Basilica, a reception filled with candlelight.
But what really makes this wedding stand out are the fun and playful touches like the bright floral print on the bridesmaid dresses, fringed pinatas hanging from the ceiling of the reception and hands down the most gorgeous custom wedding dress... wait, make that ensemble, I've ever seen. Bejweled sleeves meet a plain, fitted dress that's cropped to show off gold shoes. The necklace is a one of a kind piece that was hand stitched to the dress. And to top it all off, a sweet douse of flowers and a family heirloom veil.
