Elegant Pacific Northwest Winter Wedding
Oregon winters are magical; that goes without saying. Sarah, the Bride, loves the winter and knew she wanted a winter wedding from the get go, despite concerns from friends and family that it would be too cold and/or rainy (Oregon in winter means rain!). The day turned out lovely with a light mist falling through most of the day and a bit of fog on the horizon, which gave the photos a soft, Pacific Northwest feel.
Sarah and Matt were married in a little white chapel at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City, OR. Their reception followed in the Abernethy Ballroom a few short steps away.
Sarah's florist incorporated succulents, brunia berries, cedar, and pinecones into the bouquets and boutonnieres to reflect the winter theme. She and her bridesmaids wore pretty fur stoles to keep warm. The centerpieces were a mix of tall branches (some with cotton) with mercury glass candles, and shorter vignettes with lush white blooms in white milk glass vases. Sarah said,"The most important thing for me was for everyone to have fun and enjoy the night which wasn’t very difficult since it was a very intimate wedding with only 65 guests. Only our family and closest friends were there so everyone knew each other very well."
