Vintage Inspired Wedding at Brooklyn Winery
A bride in converse, a groom in suspenders and a seriously fabulous Brooklyn Winery setting. This, loves, isn't your average wedding. Nope, it's one party rustic, one part vintage and all parts crazy fun party. In other words? It's the kind of day that goes instantly into the SMP hall of fame. From the Bride... We met playing together on a co-ed recreational soccer team. I had been on the team for a number of years having become great friends with all of my teammates. A few years ago we lost a few male players and needed to fill some gaps in our roster. One of my teammates found a few co-workers to join. In walked Noah, my future husband. It took three meetings before it clicked for us, but when it did we became inseparable. It has been that way ever since.
We searched high and low throughout NYC and the New England area in search of a location for our wedding. The search was long and at times stressful because we were seeking a unique spot. We did not want a traditional ballroom found in every hotel or event hall across the country. Those spaces always seemed so sterile and non-personal. Instead, we wanted a venue that had already created its own unique atmosphere. Having no party/wedding planning experience I wasn’t about to attempt to create this space from the ground up. We needed to find the space that already had what we envisioned. The challenge was finding that match. One way or another we stumbled upon the Brooklyn Winery and we knew instantly it was our spot. The vintage wooden designs throughout the space along with the potted greenery make you feel warm and relaxed rustic décor often has this effect. It fit perfectly. The inspiration for the rest of our wedding style, colors, etc. was built upon our wedding venue. I choose colors of green and soft white/pinks to compliment the rustic look. Everything else just fell into place.
